"Marrying him is a dream come true. My joy is unlimited and I am more than fulfilled. I have known him as a very good lover. When I met him, at first I found it difficult to believe he was single as he claimed. I did all I could to verify his claims and as I moved closer to him, I discovered him to be a very responsible, caring and romantic person. I have always prayed to God for marrying a man like him. I have always looked forward to meeting a very nice and responsible man who will not only see himself as my husband, but a friend and a father, which Rotimi stands for. I give God all the glory.

Doctors And Pharmacy Interns In LUTH Protest Non Payment Of Salaries

As a follow-up to my post about the rumor going around in some quarters that La Casera contains bleach chemical last Thursday, I was invited to the company's office in Lagos by its Management. While there, I discovered that La Casera is INDEED produced under the highest hygienic standards and no bleach is included in the production process. “Our integrity stands,” assured the company’s quality assurance manager, Adeku Emmanuel, while taking me on an official tour of the La Casera production facilities yesterday. He said the company was committed to customer satisfaction, and would do nothing to jeopardise the trust it had built with the public over the years. “We give customers the best quality and that’s why we have continued to grow strong all this years,” he strongly highlighted. Also speaking during the tour, the General Manager of the company, Mr. GaryCarlton, further substantiated Adeku’s assertion, as he said even the Director-General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Joseph Odumodu, who visited La Casera a couple of weeks ago, was highly impressed with what he saw. To make a long story short, you have heard from the makers of La Casera that the bleach saga is just a false rumor ignited by God knows who. Stay tuned to my blog to clarify issues like this and I guarantee keeping you informed!

Victor Moses Joins Liverpool On Loan

Liverpool have agreed a £1million fee with Chelsea to take attacker Victor Moseson-loan for the remainder of the 2013/14season, according to the Guardian tonight (Saturday). The Nigerian international has reportedly already undergone his medical on Merseyside and will be in the crowd at Anfield for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester Utd. The Guardian‘s Dominic Fifield writes: There is no option for Liverpool to make the deal permanent next summer, an indication that Moses could yet have a long-term future at Stamford Bridge. Moses was bought by the West London club from Wigan Athletic for around £9million in the summer of 2012 when Roberto Di Matteo was still Chelsea boss. However, Moses has made just 23 appearances, scoring once for the Blues since. Now with Jose Mourinho as boss and a transfer spending flurry over the summer,Moses has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. Rodgers will be delighted to bring Moses’ attacking prowess to his squad, with a strong offensive front now including the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Iago Aspas. Liverpool are also hoping to complete deals for defenders Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori this weekend, as well as pursuing their interest for Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given before the summer transfer window closes on Monday night

ASUP May Resume Strike, SaysPresident

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has threatened to resume a strike action it suspended July 17 due to what itcalled government's use of "divide and rule" tactics in running tertiary institutions in the country. ASUP President Comrade Chibuzo Asomugha in a press statement said the union's suspension of its strike was predicated on the understanding that government was to meet certain obligations which it has refused to fulfil till now. While stressing that the union had"generously" granted government one month, as against the two weeks it demanded, he said two weeks after the expiration of the deadline, the only obligation which government has met in part is the harmonization of the modalities for the migration of the lower cadres of staff, stressing that governmenthas not been able to definitely indicate where the attendant arrears will come from. Asomugha said other matters which are yet to be settled are completion of the appointment of governing councils in all polytechnics, release of the White Paper on the Visitation to Federal polytechnics, the review of the Federal Polytechnics Act,the commencement of the renegotiation of the FGN/ASUP Agreement due since July2012, and a Needs Assessment of Nigeria's polytechnics and proper funding of polytechnics. The union lamented the "unfortunate stance of government in adopting a divide and rule approach to repositioninghigher education in the country. Lately, government's whole attention has been focused on the university sector to the total abandonment of the polytechnics and the colleges of education." He disclosed that ASUP may be forced to resume its strike if government refuses tofulfil its obligations

10 surprising facts about Mark Zuckerberg10 surprising facts about Mark Zuckerberg

Facebook’s phenomenal rise: In seven years, the social networking… 1)Facebook is blue because Zuckerberg is color-blind:According to a 2010 profile from the New Yorker, Facebook’s main color is blue because Zuckerberg has a red-green color blindness. In the interview, he told reporter Jose Antonio Vargas that “blue is the richest color for me — I can see all of blue.” 2)He says he’s not that interested in money:This is a well-known fact, but one that continues to surprise. In several interviews and goals statements, Zuckerberghas made it clear that making money is not his first aim — connecting the world is. “Simply put: we don’t build services to make money; we make money to build better services,” Zuckerberg wrotein the company’s S-1 filing to go public. 3)He’s a fan of Taylor Swift:Yep. Says so onhis Facebook profile. 4)He’s spent a year trying to only eat meat that he kills:Zuckerberg sets annual challenges for himself, and the challenge for 2011 was to move toward vegetarianismand only eat meat that he killed himself. “The reason for this is that I feel lucky for having such a great life. I like eating meat and before this year I ate it almost every day,” he wrote. “In order to practice thankfulness, I want to be more connected to the food I eat and the animals that give their lives so I can eat them.” 5)He designed his wife’s wedding ring:Zuckerberg was the one who designed wife Priscilla Chan’s wedding ring, which is a rubyflanked on either side by diamonds. The ringhas been a strange target of criticism, with the Daily Mailcriticizing the gem’s size and saying that it’s not nearly the rock that one would expect of a billionaire. 6)He loves his dog:Okay, maybe this isn’t surprising, but it is an important fact about Zuckerberg, if his Facebook page is any indication. Beast Zuckerbergis a Puli, or a type of Hungarian sheepdog, and is the subject of several of Zuckerberg’s and Chan’sFacebook posts. He helped walk Chan down the aisle and even has his own page — on which he “says” he likes “cuddling and herding things.” 7)Zuckerberg’s many nicknames:To friends, he’s Zuck, but according to a 2010 report from CNN, his mom has her own special name for him: Princely. The report also rounded up this tidbit from Harvard classmate Rebecca Davis O’Brien: Zuckerberg’s nickname after joining his fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi was “Slayer.” 8)He once wore a tie every day for a whole year:Another one of his annual challenges that may surprise you: Zuckerberg once wore a tie every day for a year. That’s likely a surprise to anyone who knows that he normally wears a hoodie, jeans and sneakers — even when others think he shouldn’t. But he went more formal for a year and outlined his reasons on his Facebook wall: “My 2009 challenge was to wear a tie for a whole year. After the start of the recession in2008, I wanted to signal to everyone at Facebook that this was a serious year for us.Great companies thrive by investing more heavily while everyone else is cutting back during a recession. But great companies alsomake sure they're financially strong and sustainable. My tie was the symbol of how serious and important a year this was, and I wore it every day to show this.” 9)He really liked Andy Samberg’s impression of him on SNL:Zuckerberg is a figure of a lot of gentle (and not-so-gentle) ridicule in the media, but he particularly like the treatment he got on Saturday Night Live. “Andy Samberg plays me on SNL. I'm a big Andy Samberg fan so I thought this was funny,” Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook Timeline. Samberg later reprised his Zuck impression for f8, the social network’s developer conference. 10)He once built a program called ZuckNet, just for his family:Again from the New Yorker profile, Zuckerberg once built a program for his dad, Edward, who needed a quick messaging system for his dental office, and for the family home. It was, essentially, an early version of AOL’s Instant Messenger. “The receptionist used it to ping Edward, and the kids used it to ping each other,” the report said.

Catholic Priests To Fight Abortion Law In Imo

Catholic priests to fight abortion law in Imo at Monday, September 02, 2013 Priests of the Catholic Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri, have started strategizing to tackle the anti-life legislation recently signed into law by Governor Rochas Okorocha. Investigation revealed that the clerics heldtheir first meeting last Thursday at Maria Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri. Feelers from the meeting chaired by His Grace, Dr. Anthony J. V. Obinna, revealed that one of the major issues discussed was the controversial abortion law foisted on the people by the state. One of the priests said: “We met to properly position ourselves to effectively battle the controversial abortion law recently signed by Governor Rochas Okorocha.” Meanwhile, Archbishop Obinna has called for immediate abrogation of the state laws containing what he termed “anti-lifelegislation” signed by Okorocha and his predecessor, Chief Achike Udenwa in 2012 and 2007 respectively. Archbishop Obinna, who was visibly angry as he spoke on a number of issues, including the controversial abortion law and this year’s Odenigbo Lecture, insistedthat all anti-life laws in the state must be abrogated. “We are calling for immediate abrogation of all anti-life legislations in the state. Although the church will not be mirred in the nation’s murky waters of partisan politics, it will, however, continue to demonstrate interest in the nation’s democratic process for the common good of the citizenry.” He expressed regret that after beating a regret that followed public outcry in 2010, the State House of Assembly eventually legalized the evil of abortion, Governor Rochas Okorocha quietly signedthe state Law number 12 of 2012. According to the fiery Archbishop, this new law, which was signed May 29, 2012, Nigeria’s Democracy Day, contains obnoxious and lethal provisions. “This new law contains obnoxious and lethal provisions. This law threatens manyconceived but unborn children with imminent death. This is unacceptable, anti-life and unchristian,” Obinna said. The Catholic cleric equally descended on former Governor Udenwa for assenting to “the Gender and Equal Opportunity Law Number 7 of 2007”. The cleric noted that some sections of thelaw also legalized abortion without considering the right of the conceived, unborn child or the helplessness of the unborn baby. He said: “Since abortion amounts to murder of the helpless, hapless child, we as God fearing people in Imo State, cannot standby and allow this law to rampage our society in the name of Women’s Reproductive and Gender Rights.” On the forthcoming Owerri Archdiocesan Day and Odenigbo Lecture, Obinna explained that the former vice chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Peter Ejiofor, had been chosen as the lecturer, while the topic is “Igbo progressive welfare”.

Luth Interns (house Officers) Embark On Strike Today

Just got to LUTH this morning to see a friend of mine on admission there. To my surprise I saw a group of doctors in their ward coats, carrying card boards and shouting no work no pay. I walked up to one of the interns and she told me they've not being paid for 3months now and nothing has been done about that. This is so pathetic, you find people working to save lives and government tend to breach the agreement they have with them. Why is our government so wicked? Why are they this cruel to their citizens. She went further to tell me aboutthe deplorable and inconducive atmosphere/working environment, that they do most of the work ranging from setting line, checking patients blood sugar every house, monitoring dialysis patients, writing consultants summary, even clerical duties as photocopying and printing documents for senior regs and consultants. Pictures coming soon, I have a low battery now, but would upload pictures when I charge

National Association Of Unemployed Graduates (NAUG)To hold 1st Meeting InLagos

It all started like a joke when a post went viral about graduates coming together to form an association or movement to stop unemployment. Most people saw the idea as a very welcomed initiative that will go a long way in influencing governments policies to create a place for unemployed graduates in the National budget. Graduates have been sidelined for years in Nigeria, jobs are not forthcoming and graduates find refuge in obtaining masters forms while some depend on their parents for daily bread and rechargecard. Nigerian graduates play PS2 better than their counter parts in other countries yet some people speak about been entrepreneurs- but where can we find the enabling environment. Take for example a graduate of Agriculture that lived in Lagos all his life wants to start a poultry farm. Most definitely land would be in his feasibility study in which the land use act of 1978 is the first disadvantage, he needs funds-where would he get it, roads to transport from lagos to other point of sale are bad, electricity to power the farm ..nothing to write home about, funds in case of disease outbreak like gomboro or Newcastle disease " nba" So how can he manage? Should a graduate start small buy rearing 5 chicken, 2goats, 1 sheep....in whose compound? Has he himself even eaten today(chance for Baba landlord to throw your things away) In the light of these interested graduates has been mobilised from various parts of the Nation to hold the first general meeting in lagos Venue.---Unilags sport centre Time.--9 AM prompt Date...saturday 7th of september To discuss the way forward to scrap the menace of unemployment This is an open invitation to the general public and anybody that would like to support morally or any other way you can

Boy who hid inside an Arik Plane tyre still in detention – Family pleads for his release

Miss Sonia Oikhena, elder sister of the 13-year old Nigerian stowaway boy (Daniel Oikhena, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) II)who flew from Benin to Lagos inside the wheel compartment of an aircraft, has appealed for his release from custody. During a press conference in Benin on Saturday,Sonia said family members were worried that Daniel was still in detention eight days after the dramatic event. She urged the Federal Government to order the security agencies to release the youngster to his family. She expressed concern that there had been no contact with the family by those holding Daniel. “The only contact the family had with the security agents was when the SSS in Benin invited their mother for questioning.’’ This, she stressed, had placed the family in a difficult situation over the issue. “There has been no word from the security agencies as to where the boy was being detained or his state of health. “We are worried and do not know where my brother is and his present health condition after flying in such a risky position. “My brother should not be held culpable over the security lapses at the airport. “If there had been tight security at the airport, he wouldn’t have succeeded intaking that risk of flying through the wheel of an aircraft.” On his part, Desmond, (9), the immediate younger brother, appealed for his brother’s release “because he acted out of ignorance.’’ Desmond said he was not however surprised when the news came to them last Sunday that Daniel was in Lagos. Desmond said his brother got the idea of hiding inside the wheel of an aircraft from foreign movies he often watched. “Daniel has been telling us about plansto travel to America by hiding inside the wheel compartment of an aircraft. “We slept in the same room the night before the incident and we were surprised when he woke up so early. “He packed his school bag, removed the books and replaced them with some of his clothes and hung his rosary on his neck. “He quietly walked out without anybody knowing his destination. When my mother started looking for him, I told her to go to the airport to search for him based on what he has been telling us. “I want my brother released to us. We are missing him and want him back home. My family is not happy over the continued detention of our brother. “He is just a child and must have acted out of ignorance; he needs brotherly love and guidance. “We are appealing to those responsible for his detention to please consider us because we have no money to fight any case”, the Desmondpleaded.
