Nigerian contemporary music producer Osaretin ‘Sarz’ Osabuohien has left Trybe Records, the label he signed up with a year and half ago.
‘To be honest, our contract finished and both parties didn’t want to renew’, Sarz told HipTV in a recent interview.
Sarz was one of two producers signed to the label in February 2012, the other being producer/singer/sound engineer Sheyman (who also left in March, 2013).
NET has reached out to Trybe Records but did not get a reply as at the time of this report. We however have noticed that Sarz’s profile has been removed from the label’s official website.
In related news, the producer has inked a deal with sportswear and lifestyle brand Nike. He’s the first home-based Nigerian working with the global sportswear giant.
According to his management team Naija Review, Sarz will be featured in several events and activation starting with ‘We Run Lagos‘ – a campaign created by Nike to encourage running as a part of social living
