Hollywood actor Idris Elba, who originally belongs to Ghana/Sierra Leone, has finally dismissed the speculations that he will play the role of first black James Bond role.
The actor on UK’s ITV, where he spoke about the James Bond role, producing a Luther film and the most difficult and challenging scene he’s played in his life.
The 41-year-old actor told on the ITV’s Lorraine that he does not understand the
emphasis on Bond’s race, while talking about that he will perform the role of Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Idris Elba said:
‘We don’t say “White Bond”, we just say “Bond” so it suddenly becomes a black man and he’s a “Black Bond” so I hate that phrase and it’s a rumor that’s gotten out of control basically but that’s all it is. There’s no truth in it whatsoever.’
